I Got Nothin' to Say

Inspired by those times in life where the best thing to say is nothing at all

Vi: I get to work at 8 o’ clock in the morning

The boss, he rolls in at half past nine

After two cups of Joe, he calls me on the carpet

To ask me why my project’s not on time

CHORUS

I got nothing to say, I got nothing to say

Don’t want to start a riot

so I’ll just keep quiet

I got nothing to say

VII: My buddy introduces his new girlfriend

She’s a nightmare that my brother used to date

And he’s head over heels about her giggles and her squeals

He keeps asking me, “Boy, isn’t she great?”

CHORUS

I got nothing to say, I got nothing to say

Don’t wanna start a fight,

I’ll just zip it tight

I got nothing to say

VIII:  My aunt Jill and uncle Bill have discovered religion

They tell me that they’ve been born again

They lecture me all day long on how I’m living my life all wrong,

And I’ll be going to hell for all my sins

CHORUS

I got nothing to say, I got nothing to say

If I open that door,

I’ll just start a war

I got nothing to say

BRIDGE

It’s times like these that I just need keep quiet

Because speaking up would only be a mistake

Put the smart-ass comments on the shelf; keep my opinions to myself

I'm really better off this way

VIV: Going out for a night on the town

Waiting for the lady to get dressed

She comes downstairs and asks that loaded question

She says, “Honey, does my butt look big in this?”

CHORUS

I got nothing to say  I got nothing to say

Don’t wanna fall in that trap,

I'll just shut my yap

I got nothing to say

CHORUS

I got nothing to say,  I got nothing to say

If I open that door,

I’ll just start a war,

I got nothing to say

Don’t want to start a fight,

I’ll just zip it tight,

I got nothing to say

Don’t want to start a riot,

so I’ll just keep it quiet,  I got nothing to say
